Beginning as far back as the 1960's or 1970's, the Seal Beach Sidewalk Sale has been offering amazing discounts to Main Street visitors and residents alike. The semi-annual event is a long standing Seal Beach tradition. With roughly 60 participating merchants, there is something for everyone including food & drink.
According to Brooke Harvey-Reid, co-owner of Harvey Girls Gallery & Tropical Juice, shoppers should know about a few tips to maximize their Sidewalk Sale experience. First, arrive early before most merchants open (sale starts at 10 am) and enjoy breakfast & coffee at one of the local restaurants or coffee shops. This way you'll get easier access to parking and have the energy required to shop the block!
Second, Brooke noted that most stores have additional sale items inside (the ficus trees can be very messy), so be sure to walk into the stores. Ask sales associates about the specials and which items are on sale inside. Between you and me, some of the very best bargains are inside the store due to the the need to protect higher priced items from theft. NOTE - Be sure to stop by Seal Beach Pilates in the Pavillions Center and take advantage of their sale all week (and Saturday) during regular business hours.
Take away - go inside the stores (see list of participating businesses).
If you are a Seal Beach resident, you may know that select businesses do a "pre-sale" event so you can shop before the weekend crowds arrive. The exact date and time of the pre-sale event are not typically released to the public until a day before it happens. If you'd like to be notified of the "pre-sale" event date, simply email me at [email protected]. Cheers!
